Teeth straightening can also be achieved using traditional braces. Wire is used to gradually move your teeth into alignment. The wire is held in place using brackets that are carefully placed on your teeth using adhesive. Brackets can be metal in appearance or they can be ceramic and white in colour making them less obvious.
These braces will require tightening every four to six weeks in order to encourage the movement needed to straighten your teeth and align your jaw. Each case varies, but on average, traditional braces take between 12 -24 months to create a perfect result.
As part of the process, we will discuss the range of retention choices available to you. It is imperative that you wear a retainer after treatment is completed in order to maintain your new smile.
You’re never too old to wear braces and get that smile you’ve always dreamed of having. We have patients in their retirement choosing to get their teeth straightened, their only regret is leaving it until later life.
